This page explains what the StyrOps landing page (styrops.ai, styrops.se, styrops.com) collects when you visit. We run our own self-hosted analytics — there are no third-party trackers, no advertising networks, and your data never leaves our servers.

What we collect, and why

For every visit we record an entry in our own server log to produce aggregate statistics (total visits, pages viewed, country, referrer, browser/OS/device type and language). The lawful basis is our legitimate interest (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)) in understanding the reach of this research initiative.

  • Anonymized IP address. Your IP is truncated (the last octet is removed) before it is written to any log. We use the truncated value only to derive an approximate country, then discard it. We never store your full IP address.
  • Request metadata. The page visited, the referring URL, and your browser’s User-Agent and Accept-Language headers — all standard information your browser sends with every web request.
  • No cookie by default. The visit counting above uses no cookies and stores nothing on your device.

The optional analytics cookie

To distinguish first-time visitors from returning ones, we can store a single first-party cookie named vid containing a random identifier. This cookie is set only if you click “Accept” in our consent banner. It is first-party, is never shared, and is not used for advertising or cross-site tracking.

We also store your consent choice itself in your browser’s local storage so we don’t ask again — this is strictly necessary and requires no consent. You can change or withdraw your choice any time via “Cookie settings” in the page footer.

Retention

Raw log lines are transient working data: they are aggregated into anonymous country/page/referrer counts and then cleared. We keep only the aggregated, non-identifying statistics.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you may request access to, correction of, or erasure of your personal data, and you may object to processing. Because our analytics are anonymized and aggregated we typically cannot single out an individual visitor, but you are welcome to contact us with any request.
